Recorded Future experienced reduced collection from a primary code repository source between September 1 and yesterday, September 13. Some content posted to that source during the time period described was collected overnight yesterday starting at 10pm EST as opposed to its actual time of publication. None of the content during this period was lost, only delayed.
Our team resolved the issue earlier today but expect residual effects and potentially above average number of alerts related to that source to continue through Tuesday, September 18. The issue only affected collection of content from GitHub and no other sources were impacted. Availability of Recorded Future services, including alerts and access to Recorded Future's web application and API, were also unaffected by this issue.
The collection outage was caused by a change in our collection approach. We have implemented changes to avoid similar issues in the future.
